Preparation (Sankalpa)
Before dawn during Brahma Muhurta (approximately 4:00-6:00 AM):
- Bathe and wear clean, preferably white or yellow clothes
- Sit facing East on a kuśa grass mat
- Place a copper vessel with water to your right
- Light a ghee lamp or candle
Declare your intention:
Invocation (Āvāhana)
